Sykesville Middle School hosted its annual seventh- and eighth-grade wrestling championships on Feb. 2.

The championships are a tradition at the school; students gather for an assembly to watch their classmates grapple in a number of weight classes by grade.

The following were the results. Some weight classes had more than one match:

Seventh grade

75 pounds - Mike Naugler 11-3 over Mike Rice

80 pounds - Alex Gipe 4-3 over Kyle Thorne

85 pounds - Devin Atwell 8-6 over Brady Rogers

95 pounds - CJ Mackinson 11-6 over Brooks Decker

105 pounds A - Garrett Hamilton 17-1 over Nathan Hattery

105 pounds B - Colin Horne 10-2 over Nick Neral

112 pounds - Kyle Burns 9-7 over Gray Gams

119 pounds - Jason Brown 17-1 over John Knox

124 pounds - Jake Duncan pin Colin Monks

131 pounds - Justin Witfelt pin Dustin Watkins

138 pounds - Brett Hummel 9-5 over Griffen DeLisle
