The Maryland Stars hosted former women's professional fast-pitch player and current Head Coach of Iona College, Jaime Wohlbach, as she taught 34 catchers basic and advanced catching fundamentals.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the Stars have had Wohlbach work with their catchers and catchers from other fastpitch organizations.

Players from Carroll County and others from as far away as central Pennsylvania participated in the clinic. Emelie McFarland, current Maryland Stars 18-under player, assisted Wohlbach with the clinic.

Wohlbach, a graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, played fastpitch softball internationally and for two years with the Philadelphia Force of the WPF. Wohlbach has been conducting clinics since she graduated from college and has become well known in the softball community for her knowledge, ability to instruct and have the players grasp the concepts and for her enthusiasm and love of the game. She is now in her second year at Iona College as head coach of the Gaels Women Softball Team after serving as assistant coach at a few other schools.

The clinic hosted by the Stars follows its efforts to help the players in their program and other programs as the sport of girls/women fastpitch softball develops in the area.
