Gordon H Spittel, 93, of Westminster, died Feb. 10, 2010, at the Carroll Hospice Dove House.
He was the husband of Anna Carrie (Kaiss) Spittel.
He was born October 30, 1916 in Baltimore, the son of the late George L. Spittel and late Anna (Beck) Spittel.
Mr. Spittel was a retired Telecommunications Engineer for C&P Telephone, and worked with the Bell Companies for more than 40 years. He was a member of Westminster VFW and American Legion.
He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was former member of Westminster Kiwanis Club.
He enjoyed collecting trains, model cars and clocks. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Curtis Fahholz of Deleware; daughter Deborah Pickett-Spittel of Westminster; sister Elizabeth Ann Martz of Timonium; and grandchildren Rachel Lynn Bournival, Andrew Curtis Fahsholz and Jessica Lynn Pickett.
He was preceded in death by son Gordon H. Spittel Jr. and by brothers Louis and George Spittel.
Funeral services were conducted on February 15, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd., with the Rev. Kevin Clementson officiating. Interment was in Messiah Lutheran Church Cemetery, Berrett.
