Earl Raymond Morton, 80, of Westminster died March 28, 2009, at Carroll Hospice Dove House, Westminster.

Born Oct. 1, 1928, in Baltimore, he was the son of Earl C. Morton and Esther Howard Morton.

He was the husband of the late Betty C. Morton, who died May 12, 2005.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 32 years.

Prior to retiring, he was a mechanic for W.H. Davis Co., Gore Motor Co. and S. Lease Warner. He also worked in maintenance at Fort Meade for 25 years.

He was a member of Hilltop Assembly of God, AARP and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Morton was predeceased by his parents.

Surviving him are daughter Vicky Lynne Morton of Westminster; sisters Goldie Harden of Westminster, Jean Shaw of Bethany Beach, Del. and Barbara Tuggle of Charleston, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters Esther Staub and Mary Howard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 11 a.m. at Hilltop Assembly of God, 30 N. Cranberry Road, Westminster, with his pastor, the Rev. Gary "Pete" Puckett, officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Fletcher Funeral Home, PA, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, on April 1, 10 a.m. until the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hilltop Assembly of God, 30 N. Cranberry Road, Westminster, MD 21157; or to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
