Meghan Lynn Rippeon, 19, of Manchester, died Saturday, Dec. 20, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born June 22, 1989, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Yvette Louise Rippeon and step-father Kevin W. Welsh of Manchester and William K. Rippeon of Florida.

She was a 2007 graduate of North Carroll High School, where she was on the volleyball team and a graduate of Carroll County Career & Technical Center focusing on early childhood education, where she graduated at the top of her class.  She received many academic scholarships and was currently a sophomore at Stevenson University, formerly Villa Julie College, majoring in early children education.She was currently employed with Carroll County Parks and Recreation in therapeutic recreational classes; with American Eagle Outfitters; and had just started working at Olive Garden, Westminster.

She enjoyed going to the beach and amusement parks, playing video games, shopping, drawing and Sudoku. She loved her dogs and cat, “Pepper, “Daisy” and “Mitten”.  She had a zest for life, a phenomenal smile, and awesome personality and was dedicated to her friends and family.  She loved practical jokes and was dedicated to family traditions, especially the Christmas holiday.

She was mature and wise but could always manage to see things through a child’s perspective. She had always intended to travel and see the world and was preparing to spend a semester abroad.

She is survived, in addition to her parents, by her brother, with whom she shared an inseparable bond, Michael Alan Rippeon of Manchester; grandmothers, Patricia Parrish and Arlene Rippeon, both of Hanover, Pa.; great-grandfather, Robert Starkey; god parents, Laura Ann Resh and Randy Alan Rippeon; cousins and best friends, Crystal Keller and Tiffany Pittinger; boyfrield, Michael Seidelman; special long-time friend , Alex Parks; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by a great-grandmother, Angeline Starkey; and aunt, Susan Pittinger.

A funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Grace Bible Church,  3250 Charmil Dr., Manchester, with the Rev. Greg Breen, church pastor, officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
