Isabelle Mileo, 86, of Sykesville, died Nov. 3, 2008, at Copper Ridge in Sykesville.
Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Clarksville, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Margaret Redmond.
She was the wife of the late Vincent R. Mileo Sr.
She had been a homemaker and a salesperson.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Vincent R. Jr. and Jo Mileo of Hedgesville, W.Va.; grandchildren James Mileo, Raymond Mileo and Leah Marie Hall; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment were private. Arrangements were by Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville.
Jay William Conaway, 84, of Sykesville
Jay William Conaway, 84, of Fairhaven, Sykesville, died Nov. 5, 2008, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born Sept. 15, 1924, in Winfield, he was the son of the late Jay and Amy Conaway.
He was the husband of 62 years to Ethel L. Conaway.
After graduation from Sykesville High School, he was drafted and served in the 14th Air Force in China/India/Burma theater under Gen. Claire Lee Chennault.
He owned and operated Conaway General Store in Winfield for 25 years. After giving up the store, he became a rural mail carrier for Sykesville Post Office, from which he retired.
He was a member of Winfield Bible Chapel and the Ebenezer Owls Senior Group.
He was a former Charter Member of the Taylorsville-Winfield Lions Club and the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Gary and Barbara Conaway of Silver Spring; grandson Benjamin Conaway of Cherry Hill, N.J.; and granddaughter Amy Conaway of Chicago, Ill.
He was preceded in death by sister Pearl Myers and brother LeRoy Conaway.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at Burier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA, Winfield, with the Rev. Kim Gee of Winfield Bible Chapel officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Woodbine.

George Everett Wagner, 86, of Taylorsville
George Everett Wagner (affectionately known as Pud and Pap Pap) died peacefully on Nov. 2, 2008, at his home near Taylorsville.
He was born March 31, 1922, in Unionville, Frederick County, the son of the late Charles and Esther Wagner of Misty Meadow Farm, Mount Airy.
He was the devoted husband of Doris Walkling Wagner, his wife of 30 years.
He was a retired dairy farmer on the farm where he lived for 80 years.
He started fox chasing at age 5 and continued until he retired in 2006 as Master Emeritus of the Carrollton Hounds in Carroll County.
As a child he rode his horse under the tutelage of his uncle, Pete Moxley, who taught him the skills of the fox chase and also instilled the joys of the sport as well as knowledge of the countryside.
He developed his own pack of foxhounds and spent most of his teen years continuing his knowledge of horses and hounds with Frank Barnes, who was well known for his ability as a huntsman. In the early 1960s he was hired as huntsman for the Redland Hunt in Montgomery County. His reputation as an expert judge of foxhounds became well known.
Along with Joseph Hutton of Brookfield, he helped the Goshen Hunt establish a pack of notable fox hounds. He was often invited as part of a team of judges of fox hounds and was host to the Maryland Foxhunters Association, which held several meets at Misty Meadow Farm.
He remained active in the Taylorsville Hunt Club where he held offices as president, master of hounds and huntsman. About 30 years ago, he and Colonel Donald Thackeray of New Windsor re-activated the old Carrollton Hounds and developed a pack of fox hounds and continued the tradition of fox chasing.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, is sister and brother-in-law Gloria Mae and Harry Bowen of Sachse, Texas; nieces Connie and Barbara and their children; and an extended family of step children, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
A private Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice Inc. 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157; or the Carroll County Humane Society.

Lloyd Bruce Miller, 85, of Mount Airy
Lloyd Bruce Miller, 85, of Mount Airy, formerly of Weyers Cave, Va., died Nov. 6, 2008, at the home of his son in Mount Airy.
Born Feb. 5, 1923, in Virso, Va., he was the son of the late John Daniel and Anna Argenbright Miller.
He was preceded in death by wife Norma M. Gorham Miller.
He was an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1972 as an aircraft mechanic at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Va.
After retiring, he was employed at the Rocking R. Hardware Store in Harrisonburg, Va. He attended Prospect United Methodist Church in Mount Airy.
He is survived by son Raymond L. (Ray) Miller and wife Tanya S. of Mount Airy and daughter Joyce M. Miller of Moscow. He is also survived by grandchildren Brynn L. Miller, Zebulin B. Miller and companion Mary Rimbey.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Prospect United Methodist Church, Mount Airy, with the Rev. Vicki Curry, officiating. Interment followed in Prospect Cemetery.

Caitlin M. Boles, 15, of Westminster
Caitlin M. Boles, 15, of Westminster, died Nov. 7, 2008, at Shock Trauma in Baltimore from injuries received in automobile accident on Route 31 in Frederick County on Oct. 25, 2008.
Born May 30, 1993 in Austin, Texas, she was the daughter of Patrick Francis Boles Sr. and Michelle LeNette Hooper Boles of Westminster.
She was a sophomore at Westminster High School, where she was a straight "A" student, president of her class, representative for the Carroll County Student Government Association and a former cheerleader.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Westminster, played soccer for the Westminster Travel League and was employed at Starry Night Bakery -- where her nickname was "Buttercream."
She was an organ donor.
Surviving her, in addition to her parents, are brothers and sisters Kristen M. Boles of South Bend, Ind., Patrick F. "Jr.," Natalie A., Bradley T., Shannon E. and Rebecca C. Boles, all of Westminster; maternal grandparents Albert J. and Rhea Hooper of Hill Top Lakes, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Joseph Boles, who died Oct. 25 in the same accident. She was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents Vincent F. and Matilda E. Boles.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, 595 Johann Dr., Westminster, with Bishop Jeff Cook officiating. Interment was private.

Jamison Ann Elizabeth Whittington, 4, of Mount Airy, died Nov. 3, 2008, at Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born Nov. 3, 2004, in Westminster, she was the daughter of John Timothy Whittington and Jennifer Lee (Ratliff) Whittingham.
She loved going to school and playing with her brothers.
She was the loving granddaughter of Barbara and Billy Kempton of Westminster, Jack and Teresa Whittington of Sarasota, Fla., and the late Betty Whittington.
Surviving her are brothers J.T. and Jakob Whittington of Mount Airy; uncle Catch Kempton of Westminster and aunt Lauren Ratliff of Westminster.

Hilda R. Porter, 85, of Mount Airy, died Nov. 5, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Sykesville, the daughter of the late Felix and late Minnie (Miller) Linton.
She was the wife of the late William E. Porter, who died in 2000.
She was a member of the Howard Chapel-Ridgeville United Methodist Church. She retired from the National Cancer Institute in 1998, where she worked as a laboratory technician. Friends and family will remember her passion, if not expertise, for duckpin bowling.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Judith and Keith McGee Sr. of Sykesville, David and Sharon Porter of Monrovia, Jennifer and Chuck Norris of Frederick and Phillip and Charlotte Porter of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Irvin and Ruby Linton; and sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Richard Davis.
She was preceded in death by brothers George and Thomas Linton and sister Dorothy Burdette.
Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, Winfield. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mount Airy.
