Patricia A. Wiggins, 53 of Ellicott City, died Oct. 14, 2008, at the University of Maryland Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Born April 16, 1955, in Elizabeth, N.J., she was the daughter of Ian Vincent and Mary Cumming Nelson of Colonia, N.J.

She was the wife of Richard A. Wiggins.

She was a registered nurse, and had worked at Hollifield Station Elementary School, Ellicott City, where she was an educational instructional assistant for autistic children.

Surviving her, in addition to her parents and husband, are daughter and son-in-law Jennifer L. Wiggins Calderon and Victor Calderon of Davie, Fla.; daughter Stephanie M. Wiggins of Ellicott City; sons Jason T. Wiggins of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Shaun M. Wiggins of Ellicott City; mother-in-law Isabelle Wiggins of Iselin, N.J.; and granddaughter Mia I. Calderon of Davie, Fla.

Also surviving her are sister and brother-in-law Peg and Larry Mayerowitz of Fords, N.J., brother James Nelson of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Sharlene Nelson of Jackson, N.J., sisters- and brother-in-law Kim Nelson of Middletown, N.J. and Denise and Michael Schott of Oxford, N.J.; dear friends Kelly and Kevin Maher of Ellicott City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brother Eric Nelson and brother-in-law Laurence C. Wiggins.

A funeral service was held Oct. 19 at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville. Interment followed in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
