Melissa Jean Disney, 47, of Owings Mills, died Oct. 19, 2008, at her home.
Born June 8, 1961, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Arthur N. and Jean Gugerty Disney Jr.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by brothers Arthur N. Disney III, Randy Disney and Jeff Disney; aunt Cora Williamson; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, Eldersburg, with the Rev. Jeffrey Paulsen officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville.
Nathan Bales, 89, of Hanover, Pa.
Nathan Bales, 89, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Baltimore, passed peacefully on Oct. 10, 2008, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of 48 years to Annabelle (Thompson) Bales.
He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in London, Ky., the son of the late Joseph Emsley Bales and Roxie (Disney) Bales and the stepson of Rosa (Bryant) Bales.
Mr. Bales proudly served his country during World War II as a truck driver in the 75th Quartermaster Company in Germany, France and Brussels, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
After his discharge from the army, he made his home in Baltimore and worked most of his life as a carpenter.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and crafts. He was proud of his workshop, where he spent most of his free time during his retirement building furniture, planters and wishing wells.
He was a proud life member of the VFW.
In addition to his wife Annabelle, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law Dana Leah and Victor Roe of Hanover; and son and daughter-in-law Jeffery Scott and Barbara Jean Bales of Hanover.
He is also survived by loving grandchildren Ethan Scott Bales, Kyle Lee Bales, Olivia Erin Bales and Garrett Joseph Bales, Daniel Gregory Roe and Victoria Elizabeth Roe, all of Hanover; and nephews Eddie Adams and his wife Lois and Nathan Dean Adams of London, Ky.
He was preceded in death by sister Hazel Adams and grandson Nathan Victor Roe.
Arrangements were by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA, Winfield, where a funeral service was held Oct. 13, with pallbearers Jeffrey Bales, Ethan Bales, Kyle Bales, Victor Roe, Robert Bender and Ralph Gemmill. Interment was in Taylorsville United Methodist Church cemetery, Taylorsville.
