Shirley W. Geisinger 90, of Sykesville, died Oct. 22, 2008, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.

Born Sept. 20, 1918, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Maude Spangler Woodward.

She had retired from the U.S. Government, where she had worked as a computer operator. She was a member of the WACs during World War II.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Sykesville.

She is survived by son and daughter in-law James Richard and Sharon Geisinger of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons Lee Woodward Geisinger of Chambersburg, Pa. and George Stanley Geisinger of Catonsville; and daughter and son-in-law Sarah Geisinger Gerth and John Gerth of Lake Oswego, Ore.

She is also survived by sister Viola Woodward of Sykesville, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment were private. Arrangements were by Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, Eldersburg.
