The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have an inmate back in custody after he was accidentally released from the county detention center just before noon Friday.
Thomas Manley Raver, 42 of the 100-block of Pennsylvania Ave. in Westminster, was being held at the Carroll County Detention Center without bail while awaiting trail on charges of burglary when he was mistakenly released by corrections just before noon.
A warrant was issued for Raver, according to a police report by Maj. Phillip S. Kasten, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s office.
The Sheriff's Office sent out a release saying officers located Raver at about 4 p.m. inside a home in the 200-block of Pennsylvania Ave., in Westminster. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.
"They have apprehended Raver and are transporting him back to the Detention Center as we speak," Kasten said in a phone call to explorecarroll.com.
Raver was released while detention center officials were processing the release of another inmate by the same last name.
“A supervisor verifying inmate records recognized the error within minutes and notified area law enforcement agencies; however, Raver was not located during a search of the immediate area,” according to Kasten.
