The 2010 Carroll County 4-H and FFA Fair kicks off Friday, July 30, and continues through Aug. 6, with the final wrap-up Aug. 7. The annual agricultural fair benefits Carroll youngsters through 4-H programs. The fair will open daily, with free admission. Daily events include pig and duck races and "chick parades."

Food concessions are available throughout the fair and include pit beef, turkey, ham, hot dogs, french fries, pizza, ice cream and more. The dining hall will be open for lunch and dinner. Below is the schedule of events. For details, go to www.carrollcountyfair.com or call 410-848-FAIR.

Every event in the schedule below is special, but the items highlighted in bold are expected to be fan favorites.

Staples, including the fair parade Aug. 1 and the cake auction Aug. 4, are joined by new attractions such as the Antique Tractor Square Dances on July 31 and a performance by The Band Perry Aug. 6.

Also, back for its third year, is the popular Combine Demolition Derby, July 31, beginning at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded, and the cost for spectators is $10 for ages 8 years and older; free for ages 7 and younger.
