WESTMINSTER — The Board of County Commissioners this week approved funding for five "self-help" project requests for various arts and recreation council improvements.
The largest of the five is a $15,000 project to improve the entrance of practice fields on Streaker Road near Winfield. The county will contribute $12,500 to the project, while the Winfield Area Recreation Council will fund $2,500.
The Winfield Area Recreation Council also received funding for Mayeksi Park infield turf upgrades, which will cost $4,560. Woodbine Recreation Council also received funding for $1,080 in infield improvements for Salt Box Park.
The Carroll Arts Center will receive stage lighting improvements, which cost $2,140.
