NOTE: This poem is written as a call-and-response, with one person reading the part in plain text, and a second person reading the part in bold.

Martin Luther King.

                    He was a man

with a dream.

                    with a dream.

Of equality.

                    Of Justice

Of indifference,

                    of difference.

A dream

                    that we should have.

A dream

that we should all respect.

                    that we should all respect.

It was just last year

                    that I saw her.

being left out of a game

                    for no reason, except that

she was not their age.

                    I told the players

that she could play

                    despite her age.

Why not?

                    I see no reason not

to let her try.

And she did. And she played.

Martin Luther King

                    He was a man

with a dream.

                    Of equality.

Of justice.

                    Of indifference,

of difference.
