Howard County police charged a Virginia man with driving under the
influence of alcohol after a collision on Route 32 near Emory Farm
Lane, in Sykesville, Friday morning.
Charles
Edward Thomas, 41, of Chester, Va., was driving north on Route 32 at
about 8 a.m. when his 1997 Toyota Avalon crossed the center line,
according to police. Thomas’ car entered the southbound lane and struck
the driver’s side of a 2005 Acura TL driven by Sykesville resident
Michael Feltz, 39. Thomas’ vehicle then rolled over into a wooded area
off the road. Neither Thomas nor Feltz was injured in the crash,
according to police.
A police spokeswoman declined to say
whether Thomas failed a field sobriety test. The road was closed for
approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
