Sykesville officials are asking people to not park near tape near Norwood Avenue on Monday and Tuesday due to a tree removal that will mark the beginning of a parking lot expansion and house relocation.

The areas to be blocked off include an access road and parking lot off of Norwood Avenue beside an historic house that the town is moving into the William "Mac" McElroy lot on Oklahoma Avenue. The town is renovating the house in hopes to attract a bank and other business tenent inside. The house relocation is also needed to pave and improve a private parking lot the town acquired.

Officials ask for people to not park any vehicles, equipment or anything else near or around the areas marked off with tape.

Work is anticipated to begin early Monday morning and is expected to last until Tuesday.

For more information, call the Town House at 410-795-8959.
