The Lions Club and also the associated Freedom District Lioness Club will collect donations this week for Project Appreciation 2009, which aids military veterans.
Donations will be accepted at the Lions' french fry booth at the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department carnival, June 22-26 at the fire department grounds, Route 32 at Freedom Avenue.
Nonperishable food items, personal hygiene items, batteries, games, CDs and other items will be accepted, as well as monetary donations.
The items will be sent to the recovering soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital.
