Decked out in New Windsor — The New Windsor Holiday Homes Tour will be held Sunday, 12:30 to 5 p.m., at locations throughout New Windsor. Tickets are $15 for ages 18 and older; $16 for under 18. Festival of Wreaths — The Carroll County Arts Council will conclude its 12th annual Festival of Wreaths, Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m., at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster. The festival features more than 200 decorated wreaths on display in a silent auction. Bidding ends Sunday at 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Carroll County Arts Council. The public can also vote for favorites and awards in several categories will be presented. Admission is free. Call 410-848-7272.

Gift alternatives — An “Alternative Christmas Market” will be held Sunday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6:45 to 8 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Patrons can buy Christmas gifts for family, friends, teachers, etc. by making a donation in their name to a charitable organization. Local, national and international charities will be represented. Also a bake table, with proceeds benefiting Springfield Hospital, and Shepherd’s Staff’s “Products with a Mission sale,” religious Christmas cards, and more. Season of Seuss — A free screening of the 1966 television special, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas, will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster. The show is on a double bill with “Emmett Otter’s Jug Band Christmas,” (1977) at 1:30 p.m. Concessions will be available and income will benefit the arts council’s scholarship fund. Learn & Play — Taneytown Library, 10 Grand Drive, Taneytown, will host a Learn & Play session on Monday at 10 a.m. for ages birth to 5 in its Play & Learn Early Literacy Center. Library staff will offer suggestions on using the learning toys in the center. Informal play will follow.

Woodland tots — Nature Tots, a program for preschool and elementary school students, at Piney Run Nature Center, 30 Martz Road, Sykesville, will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. to noon. Lyndi on the farm — The next Box Lunch Talk, sponsored by the Historical Society of Carroll County, will be held Tuesday at noon. Lyndi McNulty, author of the new book, “Images of America: Farming in Carroll County,” will discuss the county’s farm families in the 19th and 20th centuries. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. $1 for HSCC members, $4 for non-members. Held at the Carroll Post American Legion, corner of Green and Sycamore streets, Westminster. Gift of talent — Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Church, 1011 Francis Scott Key Highway, Keymar, will present the drama “The Best Christmas Present Ever,” for all ages, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Free. Celtic Christmas — A Celtic Christmas, an evening of holiday music with artists Maggie Sansone (hammer dulcimer), Laura Byrne Egan (wooden flute and tin whistle), Pat Egan (guitar) and Jim Eagan (fiddle), will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Baldwin’s Station, 7618 Main St., Sykesville. Voices of Owls — The Westminster High School Choir will "Sing in the Holidays" at the Westminster Library, 50 E. main St., Westminster on Thursday at 7 p.m. The performance is for all ages, though children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

A ‘Carol’ in Carroll — The Tree of Life Theatre Troupe will present “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens, and directed by Danny Hughes and Sierra Field, on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and also Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at Freedom Christian Church, 6400 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. College Choir Christmas — Carroll Community Concert Choir will host its holiday concert, with the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, on Friday, 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Scott Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Washington Road, Westminster, Cost is $5. Call 410-386-8575.

The Dickens, you say — The classic holiday show, “A Christmas Carol,” by the Maryland Ensemble Theatre, will be performed at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Children’s Chorus of Carroll — Children's Chorus of Carroll County will host its Winter Celebration concert at Baker Memorial Chapel, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, on Sunday at 3 p.m. The three Children's Chorus choirs will be joined by The Old Line Statesmen Barbershop Chorus to performing holiday favorites with a twist. Springfield series — The Springfield Concert Series at Springfield Presbyterian Church, 7300 Spout Hill Road, Sykesville, will host, “Vivaldi Gloria & Messiah,” Sunday 3 p.m. A string quartet will accompany the chorus singing the full “Vivaldi Gloria” and some choruses from Handel’s “Messiah.” A reception to follow concert.
