WESTMINSTER — Col. George Hardinger, warden of the Carroll County Detention Center, is now a member of the Maryland Task Force on Prisoner Reentry.

On Feb. 19, Gov. Martin O'Malley appointed Hardinger to the task force, which is made up of 17 members.

The task force examines ways to pool resources and funding streams to promote lower recidivism rates for returning offenders and minimize the harmful effects of offenders' time in prison, local jails or juvenile facilities. Hardinger also serves as president of the Maryland Correctional Administrators Association.
