Triangle Fitness raises $4,825 for St. Jude's

Triangle Fitness in Eldersburg recently held its second annual Pumping Iron Benefit to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and raised $4,825 through the efforts of 47 members. The amount collected exceeded last year's fundraiser.

Owner Joe Eder said the Oct. 4 event benefited not only from the enthusiastic support of members, but also from the business community, including Georgetown Salon, E.W. Beck's Restaurant and Pub, Romeo's Italian Bistro, Captain Dan's Crabhouse, Liberatore's Ristorante, You Lucky Dog, Pap Pap's Restaurant, Remark Electric, Chesapeake promotional Products, Chili's Restaurant and Ahh-Zone Therapeutic Massage.

Also helping with the event were Stacy Wilson, Stacy Shea and Liberty High School Athletic Director Ed DeVincent.

St. Jude's is the world's largest pediatric research center.

Tristar featured in martial arts magazine

Keith Thompson, head instructor of Tristar Martial Arts, was recently featured in the cover story of MA Success, an international martial arts magazines.

The article, "How a Great Staff Leads to Success" was the feature article in the November issue, and discussed how Thompson developed and maintains his trained staff.

Montgomery technique is Making Waves

Hair stylist Dawn Montgomery of Sykesville recently began working for Making Waves in Eldersburg. She formerly worked at Silver Blade Studio and also works at Mount Washington Spa and Salon.

Montgomery specializes in a non-chemical, non-traditional way to straighten hair of any type. The method is semi-permanent, meaning it eventually washes out of the hair, yet since it's not chemical, it does not have unpleasant odors.

According to Montgomery, the Brazilian Hair Straightening Treatment works on all hair types, including color treated and highlighted hair, and includes keratin and protein conditioners.
