"Alice in Wonderland" (PG). Director Tim Burton's take on the Lewis Carroll story has its share of cleverly realized 3-D special effects, but it also has its share of more commercially conventional passages. With Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman. Grade: B- TownMall Cinemas (1:15, 2:00, 4:15, 5:00, 7:15, 8:00, 10:00)
"Cop Out" (R). A white New York cop (Bruce Willis) and a black cop (Tracy Morgan) fire snappy banter at each other even more often than they fire bullets at the bad guys. Director Kevin Smith ("Clerks") presumably is trying to put a hip existential spin on this familiar material, but it mostly seems like he's just cashing in with this inanely formulaic picture. Grade: C TownMall Cinemas (1:50, 4:50, 7:50, 10:20)
"Dear John" (PG-13). This adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel concerns a soldier in Afghanistan (Channing Tatum) who exchanges letters with his girlfriend back home (Amanda Seyfried). Its honest sentiment cuts through some of the melodramatic contrivance. TownMall Cinemas (12:45, 6:30, 9:20)
"Green Zone" (R). Not reviewed. Matt Damon stars in this drama as a rogue army officer searching for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq before war escalates. TownMall Cinemas (1:00, 4:00, 7:00, 9:45)
"Our Family Wedding" (PG-13) Not reviewed. Newly engaged couple Lucia (America Ferrera) and Marcus (Lance Gross) learn the hard way that the path to saying "I do" can be rife with familial strife. TownMall Cinemas (12:30, 2:45, 5:10, 7:25, 9:40 )
"Remember Me" (PG-13). Not reviewed. Robert Pattinson stars with Emilie De Ravin in this romantic drama about two lovers struggling to deal with family tragedies. TownMall Cinemas (1:30, 4:30, 7:35, 10:10)
"She's Out of My League" (R). Not reviewed. Jay Baruchel stars in this comedy which tells of an average guy who wins the attention of a gorgeous girl. TownMall Cinemas (1:45, 4:45, 7:45, 10:15)
"Shutter Island" (R). Martin Scorsese's thriller about federal marshall Leonardo DiCaprio investigating a missing patient at a hospital for the criminally insane is pretty crazy itself. It's an entertaining potboiler that benefits from the director's technical mastery. Also stars Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Max von Sydow. Grade: B TownMall Cinemas (12:30, 3:40, 6:45, 9:50)
"Valentine's Day" (PG-13). Director Garry Marshall's ensemble comedy is too long and too sappy, but its awkwardly interwoven romantic stories involve so many recognizable faces that you keep watching. The large cast includes Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Fox, Queen Latifah, Patrick Dempsey, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Eric Dane, George Lopez, Topher Grace, Hector Elizondo, Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel, Julia Roberts and even her niece, Emma Roberts. Grade: B- TownMall Cinemas (3:30)
